- Wide size range — available from 3.18mm (1/8″) to 20mm diameter with a choice of 1/4″, 5/16″, 3/8″ and 1/2″ shanks to suit all router configurations.
- TX/TXX extended length variants — longer cutting lengths for deep groove and panel work where standard-length bits cannot reach the required depth.
When to Use This Bit
Choose the TSRW 16 1/2 for grooving dadoes, housing joints, rebates and through-cuts in hardwood, softwood, MDF, plywood and laminates where edge finish quality matters. The up cut direction is ideal when chips need to evacuate upward — for through-cuts and blind grooves where you are machining from above. For a cleaner top-face finish (less top-edge tear-out), use the down cut TSLW equivalent (R816). TiN-coated versions (TTSRW) are also available for extended tool life on abrasive materials.
Pro Tip: In solid hardwood, run at 18,000–22,000 RPM. In MDF, reduce to 16,000–18,000 RPM and increase feed rate to minimise heat. Keep passes to 1× diameter depth per pass for best finish quality.
