Key Features & Benefits

  • Reverse spiral flutes — the deep left-hand flutes wedge into the pilot hole and tighten their grip as you turn anticlockwise, so the extractor and the broken fastener back out together.
  • Hardened tool steel — holds its bite in hard, rusted and snapped fasteners without rounding off.
  • Sized No.5 for 5/8″ (16mm) — matched to a specific fastener range so the flutes engage cleanly without splitting the work.
  • Works with a tap wrench or spanner — the square drive end lets you apply controlled, steady torque.
  • Australian-made Sutton quality — trusted by trades and engineers for hard-wearing tooling.

When to Use This Extractor

Reach for the No.5 (M6010005) when a bolt or screw has snapped off or stripped and you need to get the remains out without damaging the surrounding thread. Centre-punch and drill a pilot hole down the broken fastener, drive the extractor in, then back it out anticlockwise. Choose the size from the table below to match the broken fastener diameter.
Pro Tip: Drill the pilot hole dead-centre and only as deep as the spec chart calls for — an off-centre or oversized hole thins one wall of the broken fastener and lets the extractor spin. A drop of penetrating oil left to soak first makes seized studs back out far easier.
