A 2-flute down cut solid carbide finishing spiral router bit for superior top-surface finish in hardwoods, softwoods, laminates and composites. The down cut helix drives swarf downward, eliminating top-edge tear-out and producing a clean, burr-free face on veneered panels, melamine-coated boards and fine timber work.

When to Use This Bit
Choose the TSLW 6 when the top surface of the workpiece must be kept clean and free of tear-out — veneered MDF, melamine-coated boards, hardwood panels and cabinet carcass work where chipping of the show face is not acceptable. Use the up cut TSRW equivalent (R815) when chip evacuation from the groove base is the priority. TiN-coated versions (TTSLW) are also available for extended tool life on abrasive materials.
Pro Tip: Down cut spirals compress the workpiece downward — ensure panels are well supported and clamped, particularly thin veneered sheets which can bow under the downward cutting force. A sacrificial board beneath supports the bottom face and prevents bottom-edge breakout.
