When to Use This Bit
Use the TDP 20 1/2 when you want a built-in pull handle machined directly into drawer fronts or cabinet doors — ideal for modern handleless kitchens, bedroom furniture, and workshop cabinetry. Run along the top edge of a drawer front for a clean horizontal pull. Best used in a router table for repeatable depth and consistent results across multiple pieces. The 1/2″ shank version is recommended for production use; see also TDP 20 (1/4″ shank) for handheld routing.
Pro Tip: Set the router table fence to expose only the lower portion of the profile for a partial pull groove, or lower the bit to expose the full profile for a deeper, more comfortable grip. Always take two passes — a shallow roughing pass followed by a full-depth finishing pass — to avoid chip-out in veneered materials.
