The Festool 496170 main filter element is the standard replacement filter for CT 26, CT 36 and CT 48 dust extractors. It captures residual dust particles down to 1 micron that pass through the filter bag, returning clean air to the workspace. Suitable for L-class and M-class dust extraction.

When to Use This Filter
Replace the main filter when you notice reduced suction despite a fresh filter bag, or when visible dust appears in the exhaust air. This standard filter is suitable for general woodworking dust — softwood, hardwood, MDF and composites. It is not rated for HEPA filtration and should not be used for RRP-regulated tasks, asbestos or silica dust. For HEPA-level filtration, use Festool filter part 496171 or 498994 instead. Not compatible with AUTOCLEAN-equipped extractors.
