When to Use These Dust Caps
Replace dust caps whenever they become dented, loose, or fall off during travel. A missing or damaged dust cap exposes the bearings to contamination and accelerates wear. The R1958 fits all standard 45mm hub bores used with LM and SLM bearings. For 2TN or parallel bearing hubs, use the larger R1966 (62.5mm) or R1966A (63.5mm) dust caps instead. For superior protection, consider upgrading to R1415A bearing buddies which allow grease injection without removing the cap.
