When to Use This Product
Use Permatex Black (31319) specifically where the joint is exposed to engine oil or transmission fluid — oil pans, valve covers, timing chain covers, diff covers. For non-oil applications, use Blue (31316) or White (31312). For high-temperature exhaust work, use Red (31314).
