Use this pipe tap to cut internal threads on hydraulic, pneumatic and plumbing fittings. The tapered profile self-seals against the matching male fitting — no thread tape required for joints rated below working pressure. This particular variant (T7527200) covers the 1/8-27 specification.
Pro Tip: Pipe taps cut a much larger total volume of metal than fastener taps — use plenty of cutting fluid, low cutting speed, and reverse a half-turn often to clear chips. Hand-cut threads in larger sizes benefit from a long bar tap wrench for the leverage required.
