When to Use This Drill
The Sutton D6000400 (4.0mm x 75mm masonry) is the right tool for general construction drilling in concrete, brick, and block — running anchor holes for fixings, mounting brackets to render, or pilot holes for masonry plugs. Use in hammer mode for solid concrete; rotary-only mode is fine for soft brick and block.
Pro Tip: Don’t lean on the drill — let the percussion action do the work. Heavy push pressure dulls the carbide tip prematurely and slows the cut down. For 4.0mm in concrete, ~1500-2500 RPM with hammer action and steady (not heavy) pressure cuts fastest. Withdraw the bit every 30-50mm to clear dust from deep holes; otherwise the dust packs in front of the cutting edge and the bit overheats.
