The Kirschen 1431 is a German-made out-cannel firmer gouge with the cutting bevel ground on the outside of the curve. The 16mm hand-forged blade is hardened to 61 HRC and fitted with a flat hornbeam handle — built for cutting concave hollows and scooping waste.
