When to Use This Die Stock
Pair the die stock with a matching-OD button die to cut external threads onto round stock. Centre the workpiece, start the die square, and rotate with steady pressure — letting the lever arms do the work rather than forcing it. This particular variant (UGOL11) covers the Workshop Range specification.
Pro Tip: Use cutting fluid generously, and reverse the die stock a half-turn every full turn forward — this breaks the chip and prevents the cutting edges from loading up, the most common cause of torn threads.
