The TPD 1 B 1/2 is the stile and profile cutter of the matched Carbitool panel door set, used in conjunction with TPD 2 1/2 (the rail/cope cutter). Fitted with a ball bearing guide for arch and cathedral door routing. Suits timber 20–25mm thick.

When to Use This Bit
Use TPD 1 B 1/2 (this bit) to machine the profile and groove on all stile faces, and on straight rail faces. Use the matching TPD 2 1/2 to cope the rail ends so they fit into the stile groove. Both bits must be used together to produce a complete door joint. Best used in a router table. The ball bearing on TPD 1 B 1/2 enables curved top rails for arched doors — a significant advantage over standard stile-and-rail sets. Wood thickness: min 20mm, max 25mm.
