The Carbitool TX1712B 1/2 is a 2-flute carbide-tipped rebating bit with ball bearing guide. Cuts a clean 3/8" rebate depth on the edge of timber and sheet materials without a fence. Suitable for picture frames, window frames, box making and general rebate work. Substitute a TB9 bearing to increase rebate depth by 1/16".

When to Use This Bit
The TX1712B 1/2 is the right choice for rebating operations on picture frames, window and door frames, cabinet backs, box construction and any application requiring a precise shoulder and flat-bottomed channel on the edge of a board. The ball bearing guide makes it equally useful on straight and curved workpieces. Use with shielded bearings TBS1–TBS9 for a custom rebate depth range.
Pro Tip: The TB11 bearing is standard. Substitute a TB9 bearing to increase the rebate depth by 1/16" (1.6 mm). For further depth increments, use the Carbitool shielded bearing range (TBS1–TBS9), which covers OD sizes from 3/4" to 1-3/4" — each giving a different rebate depth on the same bit.
