Sutton D1860950 is a 9.5mm stub-length jobber drill from the D186 Blue Bullet range — M2 HSS with steam-oxide blue finish, 118° split point and DIN1897 stub geometry for short, rigid holes. Ideal for hand-drilling and panel work where a longer jobber drill would flex or wander.
Compatible Materials
Key Features & Benefits
- DIN1897 stub geometry — short overall length (3xD max cut) gives extra column strength so the drill stays straight in mild steel and stainless without flex.
- 118° split point — self-centres on hard surfaces, eliminating the need to centre-punch every hole and reducing walking on rounded or curved work.
- Steam-oxide finish — the blue tempered surface holds cutting lubricant better than bright-finish HSS and helps reduce friction in heavy ferrous drilling.
- M2 high-speed steel — Sutton’s standard HSS grade for the Blue Bullet line; well-balanced for mixed-material drilling and a good general workshop choice.
- Helix R30 (N-type) — medium helix for general-purpose drilling across a wide range of metals and plastics.
