This brass reducing hex nipple carries a 3/8″ BSP male thread at one end and a 1/4″ BSP male thread at the other, joining two female air-line ports of different sizes. It steps a 3/8″ port down to 1/4″ in a single fitting for compressed-air lines, compressor outlets and pneumatic tool plumbing.

When to Use This Reducing Nipple
Reach for part 0173-0604 when one female port is 3/8″ BSP and the fitting you are joining is 1/4″ BSP — the reducing nipple bridges the two sizes without an extra adaptor. Wrap the male threads with PTFE tape before fitting for a clean, leak-free seal.
