Sutton TuPoint Double-Ended Panel Drill — #30 (3.26 mm)

Part No: 9D30  |  Barcode: 9342386009019  |  Series: D122 Silver Bullet

Note: Sold individually — price is per drill, not per pack.

Sutton 9D30 is a #30 (3.26 mm) double-ended TuPoint panel drill from the D122 Silver Bullet range — M2 HSS, 135° self-centring split point, and a short 19 mm flute optimised for shallow holes in flat and curved sheet panels. The double-ended geometry gives you two cutting tips per drill for high-volume rivet-hole and sheet-metal work.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Double-ended design — two cutting ends per drill, effectively doubling the working life of every bit and halving the changeover cost on long production runs.
  • 135° TuPoint split point — self-centres on contact so there’s no walking, no centre-punching, and no pilot drilling on flat or curved sheet stock.
  • Short flute, 54 mm overall — extra rigidity for shallow panel-depth holes (max ~1.25× diameter) which means less breakage when the drill snatches on thin sheet.
  • M2 high-speed steel — the same alloy Sutton uses across the Silver Bullet range; balanced strength, heat resistance and edge life for repetition drilling.
  • Bright finish — clean, low-friction surface for general-purpose ferrous and non-ferrous panel work.

When to Use This Drill

Choose Sutton 9D30 for sheet-metal fabrication, panel beating, automotive body and trailer work where you’re drilling lots of #30 holes through thin material. Sized to drill clean, accurate holes for 1/8″ pop rivets. If you need a longer reach for jobber-depth holes, step up to a standard jobber drill — TuPoint is purpose-built for short, repetitive panel-depth work.
Pro Tip: Run these on a low-mid speed (around 1500–2500 rpm in mild steel sheet) with steady, light pressure — the 135° split point self-starts without a centre punch, which is what makes the TuPoint geometry so fast on repetitive panel work.
