When to Use the AC-112-008-12
Reach for the AC-112 IP67 digital caliper when you’re working in a wet environment — coolant-spray machining, outdoor fabrication in the rain, food-processing equipment maintenance, or any application where a standard caliper would be damaged by water or corrosion. For dry-bench use the cheaper IP54 AC-111 series is sufficient; for sub-micron accuracy step up to an IP65 digital micrometer.
Pro Tip: Even IP67 calipers benefit from rinsing after coolant exposure — synthetic coolant deposits build up on the slider rack and can eventually affect smooth movement. A quick warm-water rinse and shake-dry after the shift keeps the slider running smoothly for years.
