Accud Dial Lever Indicator
Part No: AC-261-008-11 | Barcode: 9346967024866 | Series: Accud 261 Dial Lever Indicators
The Accud AC-261-008-11 is a dial lever (test) indicator for tight-access work where a standard dial indicator plunger won’t fit. The hinged contact arm pivots horizontally and reads 0.01mm on a rotating dial — the go-to tool for lathe centre alignment, mill tramming and clocking fixtures.

Key Features & Benefits
- Horizontal pivoting arm — reaches into recesses and confined spaces where a vertical-plunger dial indicator can’t fit.
- 0.01mm dial graduation — sensitive enough for lathe centring, chuck runout and mill-head tramming to trade precision.
- Rotating dial face — zero the dial to any probe position so you read deviation directly rather than calculating difference.
- Dovetail mounting stem — fits standard indicator holders and magnetic-base arms; universal mounting compatibility.
- Carbide contact tip — won’t wear under repeated contact with hardened spindles or tool steel references.
- Essential for machine setup — tram the mill head, centre-find the lathe chuck, clock in a four-jaw setup; the core indicator for precision machining.
When to Use the AC-261-008-11
Reach for the AC-261 lever indicator when you need to clock, centre or tram a machine setup — lathe chuck runout, mill-head squareness to the table, drill-press alignment, or fixture locating to 0.01mm. For plunger-style measurement on flat work, use the AC-222/225/229 dial indicators instead. Pair with the AC-280 magnetic base kit for a complete alignment setup.
Pro Tip: Keep the lever arm at around 15° to the measured surface — too steep and the cosine error at the tip throws the reading off; too flat and the arm slides rather than reads. The sweet spot is where the contact rolls smoothly across the surface with light drag. Practice on a known-true reference (a granite plate or ground shaft) to calibrate your feel.
