When to Use the MTPROSH
Use the MTPROSH when you need to transfer or mark out an angle between 0° and 180° from a flat reference edge — mitre joints, bevel cuts, layout for welding fixtures, or pattern work in sheet metal. For angle work that needs to pivot around a cylindrical or irregular surface, a round-head protractor (MTPRORH) or sliding bevel is more appropriate.
Pro Tip: When transferring a site-measured angle to stock on the bench, always mark from the same face as the square head reference — flipping the protractor onto the opposite face inverts the angle reading and is the most common source of mis-cut bevels. A small arrow in pencil on the reference face takes three seconds and eliminates the mistake.
