The Intech MTSPGW28 is a 28-blade imperial thread-pitch gauge for identifying BSW (Whitworth), BSF, UNC and UNF threads by TPI. Each tool-steel blade is stamped with its threads-per-inch, so matching a mystery fastener or tapped hole is a quick visual comparison rather than trial-and-error with taps and dies.

When to Use the MTSPGW28
Use the MTSPGW28 when you’re identifying an imperial thread — Whitworth and BSF on older British-heritage machinery, or UNC/UNF on American-spec equipment. For ISO metric threads, use the MTSPGM24 metric gauge instead. The MTSPGW28 is an imperial-only gauge; if you want both standards in one tool, consider P&N’s 52-blade combined MC/BSW gauge.
Pro Tip: Whitworth and Unified threads both come in coarse and fine variants with similar TPI counts — count carefully and look at the thread-flank angle: Whitworth is 55° and Unified is 60°. If the blade matches the TPI but not the flank profile, you’re looking at the wrong standard.
