The Festool 490160 interface pad is a foam cushion layer that sits between the backing pad and abrasive on RTS 400, RS 400 and LS 130 sanders. The 80×133mm rectangular pad with 12-hole pattern softens contact pressure for sanding profiles, contours and curved surfaces. Supplied as a 2-pack.

When to Use This Interface Pad
Install the 490160 interface pad when sanding contoured, profiled or curved surfaces on the RTS 400, RS 400 or LS 130. The foam layer prevents the hard backing pad from concentrating pressure on high points, which would otherwise sand through veneer or paint on edges. Also useful for superfine finishing where consistent contact pressure produces a uniform scratch pattern. Replace when the foam compresses flat or the hook surface wears.
