Accud Universal Magnetic Stand
Part No: AC-282-080-02 | Barcode: 9346967026594 | Series: Accud Magnetic Stands
The Accud AC-282-080-02 is a universal magnetic indicator stand with articulating arm and switchable magnetic base. The universal configuration gives longer arm reach and heavier magnetic hold — suits larger machine setups, bigger fabrication pieces and applications where the indicator needs to reach over a mill table or deep into a machine casting.

Key Features & Benefits
- Switchable on/off magnet — lock to a ferrous surface with the lever; release to reposition without fighting magnetic drag. Essential for moving between setups quickly.
- V-grooved base — grips both flat surfaces (mill tables, granite plates) and round stock (spindles, shafts); versatile across machine-setup tasks.
- Articulating multi-joint arm — two knuckles plus a central locking knob; swing the indicator into any position and lock all joints with one handle.
- Fine-adjust screw — dial in the last millimetre of probe position after the main arm is locked; critical for accurate indicator zero.
- Universal indicator fit — accepts 8mm-stem dial indicators and dovetail-stem lever indicators (with the supplied holder); works with Accud AC-222/225/229 dials, AC-212 digital and AC-261 lever.
- Rigid construction — won’t flex under contact pressure; repeatable readings across multiple checks of the same setup.
When to Use the AC-282-080-02
Reach for the AC-282-080-02 whenever you need to hold a dial or lever indicator on a ferrous machine surface — tramming a mill head, clocking a four-jaw lathe chuck, inspecting spindle runout, or indicating a fixture to a reference. Pair with the AC-222/225/229 dial indicators for plunger work or the AC-261 lever indicator for tight-access clocking.
Pro Tip: Tighten the arm joints firm by hand, not wrench-tight — over-tightening deforms the joint over time and the stand starts wandering under vibration. Hand-firm is the sweet spot: holds position dead still during clocking, releases cleanly when you want to move.
