- 101.5mm x 17mm flat base — ground true to give a stable reference surface spanning both sides of the hole or slot; won’t rock like a ruler end.

When to Use the AC-391-006-01
Reach for the AC-391 depth mic when measuring the depth of a hole, slot or shoulder to precision tolerances — tapped-hole depth, countersink depth, milled pocket depth, or step-shoulder heights on turned or machined parts. A depth-gauge rule is quicker for rough checks; the depth mic is for the critical dimension.
Pro Tip: When measuring a blind-hole depth, clean the bottom of the hole first — a single chip trapped at the bottom reads the chip, not the hole depth. Blow or pick out the chip before measuring; a depth mic is as accurate as the cleanliness of the surface it contacts.
