A 2-flute carbide-tipped tongue and groove bit (Style B) that produces matching interlocking joints using a single bit — simply invert the second piece. Style B geometry maximises glue surface area for a stronger joint than standard tongue-and-groove profiles.

- Single bit system — one bit creates both the tongue and groove; simply invert the second workpiece for the matching profile. No bit changes required.
- Style B wider profile — enlarged tongue geometry provides greater glue surface area contact versus the standard TGA/TGB profile, producing a stronger long-grain joint.
- Hard-to-detect joint — when glued and planed, Style B joints are virtually invisible, ideal for solid-timber panel construction.
- Suits timber 7/16– 7/8″ (11.11–22.23mm) thick — appropriate for solid timber tabletops, flooring, and furniture panel work.
When to Use This Bit
Use the TGB 50 when edge-joining solid timber panels where joint strength is more important than speed — tabletops, benchtops, wall panelling, and furniture carcass panels. The wider Style B glue surface is preferable to the standard profile (TGA 100) when the joint will be stressed or when using short-grain timber sections. Best used in a router table with a fence; a featherboard helps maintain consistent pressure for a uniform tongue depth. Timber thickness must be between 7/16″ and 7/8″ for correct joint geometry.
