Key Features & Benefits

  • Traditional Classical Profile — produces the classic stepped moulding with small bottom radius (R3.18mm) and complementary top form, ideal for panel doors, drawer fronts, and cabinet face frames.
  • 2-Flute Carbide-Tipped Construction — longer cutting life than HSS with smooth chip ejection; handles hardwood and MDF without burning.
  • No Bearing — Use with Fence or Template — without a guide bearing, the cut depth and position is set precisely using your router table fence, making it easy to run long sections of moulding consistently.
  • 1/4″ Shank — fits standard router collets; suited to table-mounted routing for moulding work.

When to Use This Bit

Use the TTC12 when routing traditional classical profiles on panel doors, cabinet rails and stiles, picture frames, and furniture edges using a router table with a fence. The no-bearing design gives clean, consistent results at a fixed height setting. For template routing or freehand edge work where a guide is needed, choose the TTC 12 B (with ball bearing). For a 1/2″ shank version of the same profile, consider TTC 12 1/2.
Pro Tip: Take a light finishing pass (0.5–1mm) after your full-depth cut to remove any tear-out and achieve a crisp, polished profile edge — especially important on veneered boards and figured timbers.
