When to Use the AC-225-025-11
Reach for the AC-225-025-11 dial indicator when you need straight-line plunger measurement — clocking a chuck, checking flatness against a granite plate, comparing heights on a surface plate, or QC gauging against a standard. The 0-1″ / 25.4mm range fits most general machining and fabrication inspection work. For tight-access clocking use the AC-261 lever indicator; for 0.001mm precision go digital with the AC-212.
Pro Tip: Mount the indicator so the plunger travels perpendicular to the measured surface — a 5° angle introduces cosine error that compounds over the range. If you can’t get perpendicular, use a lever indicator which is designed for angled contact. Straight-plunger indicators are for straight-line measurement.
