When to Use This Finder
Spin the spindle at 800-1200 rpm and slowly traverse the work edge into the offset 5mm tip — the tip will run concentric until it touches, then snap sideways. Move back half the offset (2.5mm) and the spindle is on the edge. Use the pointed end pressed against a centre-punched mark to dial in a hole pattern.
Pro Tip: The most common error with edge finders is running them too slow — below 600 rpm the tip wobbles before it snaps and you’ll end up 0.05mm off. Stay between 800 and 1200 rpm for repeatable 0.005mm pickup.
