Key Features & Benefits

  • Ball Bearing Guide (TB11) — rides along the workpiece edge or template, allowing safe freehand edge routing and curved profile work such as arched panel door rails.
  • Traditional Classical Profile — the stepped form with large top radius and small bottom detail is the defining profile of traditional style cabinetry and panel doors.
  • Profile Versatility — use the TB9 bearing to expose the bottom corner and produce a top-and-bottom bead; use TB11 to exclude the bottom bead for a cleaner classical profile.
  • 2-Flute Carbide-Tipped — durable and sharp; handles long runs in hardwood without the tip wear associated with HSS bits.

When to Use This Bit

Use the TTC 8 B when routing traditional classical mouldings on curved or arched panel door rails where a fence cannot be used. The ball bearing rides the workpiece edge, keeping the profile consistent even on complex shapes. For straight moulding runs where a fence can be used, the TTC 8 (no bearing) is a more economical option. For heavier stock requiring a 1/2″ shank, choose TTC 8 B 1/2.
Pro Tip: Swap the included TB11 bearing for a smaller TB9 bearing to expose the bottom corner of the cutter — this creates a top-and-bottom bead variation of the same profile, giving you two distinct looks from one bit.
